Toasted whole wheat flakes mixed with whole flaxseeds
We still make our cereal from the same simple 4-ingredient recipe created by Lafayette "Uncle Sam" Coltrin in 1908.
We cook whole wheat berries sourced from the American Heartland with salt, whole flaxseed and a touch of barley malt to enhance the natural nutty flavor of the whole grains and steam them until soft. Next we roll them into flakes and oven-toast them to deliver the Uncle Sam Original Wheat Berry Flakes that have been enjoyed for over a century.
Our traditional method preserves the nutritional value, shape and flavor of the whole grains while delivering 10 grams of fiber, 9 grams of protein and less than 1 gram of sugar per serving.
Suggested Use
Before enjoying Uncle Sam cereal, shake it up! Give your box a hearty shake to help redistribute the flaxseed.
A few ways our customers use Uncle Sam to get more whole grain fiber and protein in their diet are:
- Mix in with yogurt or ice cream
- Sprinkle over hot cereals
- In a bowl with fresh fruit and/or milk
- Add to salads of fiber/protein crunch
Other Ingredients
Whole wheat kernels, whole flaxseed, salt, barley malt.
