It removes more residue from dirt, food, and stains than the leading free detergent, and it?s recognized by both the NEA & NPF. Tide Free and Gentle is available in two formulas for use in regular and high-efficiency washing machines.
Like most Tide detergents, Tide Free and Gentle Liquid Laundry Detergent contains surfactants. Surfactant molecules have two parts. One is "water loving" and the other is "water hating." The water-loving (hydrophilic) part breaks the surface tension of water. The water-hating (hydrophobic) part is attracted to oil and grease in stains, loosening and removing them from fabrics.
Detergents usually contain more than one type of surfactant to remove certain types of stains and clean different types of fabrics. Other ingredients in laundry detergent can include fluorescent whitening agents (to help maintain whiteness or brightness) and enzymes (to help break down complex stains like blood and grass).
Most detergents also contain dyes and perfumes. Tide Free and Gentle does not.
Directions
Measure with cap. For medium loads, fill to bar 1. For large loads, fill to bar 3. For HE full loads, fill to bar 5. Add clothes, pour into dispenser, start washer.

Warnings
May Irritate Eyes. Do not get in eyes. Do not reuse this package for dispensing beverages or other liquids. First Aid Treatment: If swallowed, give a glass full of water or milk and call a Poison Control Center or doctor immediately. Do not induce vomiting. If in eyes, rinse well with water for 15 minutes.
