Organic hulled millet.
Q & A (6)
Hello, Can anyone explain how this millet is hulled and at the same time whole grain? Doesnt hulled mean the outermost inedible layer being removed? Thanks.
Millet hulls are actually indigestible for humans - if we cannot digest it then its use for us nutritionally is not measurable. Some grains really DO have good health benefits to the hulls - such as wheat (called wheat berries) the entire wheat kernel CAN be cooked, while the whole millet CANNOT be cooked until the hard and indigestible outer hull is removed. . Here is an interesting thing - even for animal feed millet is at least ground up. For human consumption you will only find it hulled.
