What Is Mega GLA Sesame Lignans?
Gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) is the precursor to the biologically active DGLA (dihomo-gamma linolenic acid), which has numerous health benefits. Weve added sesame lignans to our formula to boost borage oils beneficial effects and inhibit GLAs conversion into inflammatory factors like arachidonic acid, further supporting whole body health.
Enhancing our GLA supplement with sesame lignans enables GLA to work much better in the body, for greater health benefits.
Omega-6 fatty acids like linoleic acid are well-supplied in the diet by meat and vegetable oils. But some omega-6s can contribute to the production of inflammatory compounds such as prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), thromboxane A2 and leukotriene B4 (LTB4).
GLA and omega 6 fatty acids
Gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) from borage oil, on the other hand, helps inhibit inflammatory compounds and promotes healthy prostaglandin E1 (PGE1) levels, both of which promote whole body health.
Borage oil supplements are an excellent way to obtain GLA.5 GLA is the precursor to the biologically active dihomo-gamma-linolenic acid (DGLA), which may provide optimal health benefits. And our Mega GLA supplement provides 400 mg of concentrated GLA from borage oil per softgel.
Augmented with sesame lignans
Weve added 10 mg of sesame lignan extract to each softgel to help promote healthy levels of beneficial DGLA. Sesame lignans help inhibit the conversion of GLA into inflammatory arachidonic acid. This, in turn, inhibits the formation of other inflammatory compounds like PGE2 and LTB4 in order to support whole body health.

Suggested use
