Made from hearty buckwheat kernels, Bob's Red Mill Organic Kasha is slowly roasted to bring out the wonderful flavor. Kasha is very simple to prepare and can be ready to eat in just minutes. Try it as a delicious hot cereal, pilaf, or in countless traditional Russian dishes. It's not only delicious and easy to cook, it's also a good source of dietary fiber and protein.
Bob's Red Mill products labeled Gluten Free are batch tested in our quality control laboratory. We use an Elisa Gluten Assay test to determine if a product is gluten free.
Suggested Use
Keeps best refrigerated or frozen
Cooking Instructions:
For a delicious hot cereal, bring 3 cups milk or 2-1/2 cups water to boil and slowly stir in 1/2 cup of Kasha, add 1/4 tsp. salt and a little butter. Boil 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve with milk or cream and honey. Serves 4.
Microwave instructions:
For 1-2 servings: Boil 1 cup water or broth in 2-cup glass container. Add 1 tsp butter, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/8 tsp. pepper and 1/4 cup Kasha. Cover with plastic wrap. Heat to boiling then switch to Defrost setting for 4-1/2 minutes. Spread out on a plate, put back in microwave and heat uncovered 2 minutes on High. Remove and fluff with a fork.
