This seasoning mix was specially formulated at the mill with one thought in mind: "To dispatch incomparable flavor and a pleasant aftertaste to Bob's Red Mill 13 Bean Soup Mix, or a pot of anasazi, black, pinto or other beans of your choice." The results have been judged "decidedly superior."
Suggested Use
Keeps best refrigerated or frozen
Cooking Instructions
Wash, sort and soak overnight two cups of dry beans. Drain and rinse soaked beans. Add to a pot with 8 cups of water. Add 1 cup chopped onion (opt) and 1/2 to 3/4 tsp. salt (opt). Add 2 Tbsp. Bob Red Mill Bean Soup Seasoning Mix, bring to a full boil, reduce heat and simmer 1-1/2 to 2 hours or until tender. For a milder flavor, reduce the amount of seasoning used. Mix the spices thoroughly when using less than a full packet.
Makes 6-8 servings.
